Kelly’s Butchers, Newport

Kelly’s Butchers is a well established artisan butchers shop in Newport, Co. Mayo specialising in traditional black and white puddings and speciality sausages. The business was started by Dominick Kelly in the 1930s and has been run by three generations of the family ever since. They have just launched a new website (www.kellysbutchers.com) where their prizewinning products can be purchased online.

 

The main products are Kelly’s Black and White Puddings and Kelly’s Sausages. The company motto is “We make up to a standard, not down to a price” which demonstrates their commitment to premium quality.

 

Kelly’s Butchers are listed in the Bridgestone Guide, and are also members of the Good Food Ireland marketing group and are praised in many books and both national and international media articles. They were recent winners of the Mayo LEO Award at the Blás na hEireann awards. Sean Kelly is a regular face on TV and voice on radio both in Ireland and abroad. Kelly’s Butchers are consistent prize winners at national and international competitions.

 

Croagh Patrick Seafoods

Padraig Gannon runs Croagh Patrick Seafoods in Kilmeena near Westport and supplies us with the freshest, tastiest shellfish imaginable. It is a well established family business producing fresh Clew Bay native oysters, award-winning Pacific oysters, mussels and clams. For over 25 years the Gannon family has been supplying shellfish throughout Ireland, the UK and continental Europe. All shellfish are produced in Grade A mari-culture sites on the shores of Clew Bay near Croagh Patrick for which the company is named.

 

Murrisk Shellfish

Seán O’Grady produces wonderful oysters just down the road from The Tavern – they literally couldn’t be fresher when they arrive at your table.

 

Carrowholly Cheese

Wonderful gouda-style hard cheese made by Andrew Pelham-Burns in Carrowholly just the other side of Westport.

 

Joe Kelly

Joe is a dedicated organic farmer based near Kiltimagh who supplies us with vegetables.

 

Reekview Farm

Pat Grimes in Westport supplies us with salad leaves and other greens.

 

Jack & Eddie

We get sausages from the O’Malley family from Liscarney who raise their own pigs.
